I was born fully sighted but at the age of 4 I was treated for an illness and given an ongoing course of medication, which I subsequently found was the catalyst of my optical damage along with some hearing loss.

I am profoundly legally blind with a very minimal range of eyesight and a lack of peripheral vision.

From a very young age I had an intense interest in poetry. I wrote my first verse at 6 years old and came second in a young world poetry competition. My poetry has always been an outlet for my personal expression of my feelings.
